Playlist 12: "Man, you're such an animal Chloe!"

This month, despite its busyness, Ei and I (rhyming skills) have decided to take a walk on the wild side, musically speaking, of course.

1. The Lovecats - The Cure
I like to mix up playlists with some old and some new and whilst this song came out in 1983 it still is an absolute classic of a song. It has a melody you can't get out of your head, a rhythm you can't help tap your feet to and the vocals are as wild as they name suggests. Absolutely timeless.

2. Guns and Horses - Ellie Goulding
If only I could marry her. Whilst not being my favourite song by Ellie G, especially after her new record company completely ruined it, its still a good song and deserves a mention. Ellie has a unique voice, mix that with syncy sounds and breathtakingly beautiful harmonies and you got someone who a start female (me) would go gay for.

3. Animal - Neon Tree's
Without lead singers Tylers Glenn's unique voice this song would be just drop of water lost in the massive ocean that is the indie rock and roll world. Luckily, they do have Tyler Glenn's voice... and his haircut, which frankly is a talking point in itself. They were only signed last year, but I think the future is very bright for them... neon in fact.

4. Hi Tiger! Stop Believing! - Hi Tiger
This song starts off beyond abstract, slow at first and then picks up, before launching into the electronic bliss accompanied by eerie oohs and ahhhs. Not very tiger-esque, but none the less brilliant.

5. I Hate Seagulls - Kate Nash
Straight off her brand new album 'My Best Friend Is You', is a song that completely contradicts the rest. After hearing most of the angsty, shouty rants, 'I Hate Seagulls' reminds me of the Kate Nash from the last album. That's not to say its bad, even though Kate's new angsty shouty rants are fucking awesome, albeit a little graphic.

6. The Daily Growl - Lambchop
Despite the bands odd name and the songs title, this song is classically elegant and doesn't really growl much at all. Despite my love of growling and my disappointment at its lack, its still a very pretty song. Awwww.

7. Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf
Whilst you listen to this song imagine a car jumping a cliff in slow motion, its fucking awesome. This song is legendary and had to be included somewhere for the sheer amount of cool it will bring to your life. Don't worry, there is no need to thank me.

8. The Dog - Alessi's Ark
I have only one word for this song: ADORABLE. Enjoy.

9. Bird Bird In a Small Cage - Patrick Watson
Good olde Patrick knows a thing or two about creating great music. This song is metaphorically beautiful and Patrick's voice is delicate. Also- this guy has an amazing beard. I enjoy it.

10. Panther - White Flight
A song to swing your hips to. Its a little out there and you might not like it the first time you listen to, but its one of those songs that sneak up on you and you find yourself loving it. Beware of the wrath of this song.

11. White Rabbit - Grace Potter and the Nocturnals
From the Alice and Wonderland soundtrack and unlike the movie, this doesn't disappoint. With some epic guitar playing and subtle vocals, this song is like finding a wonderland.

I thought she was cute! Ellie G could do no wrong in my eyes.
