What We Missed Out on at... Bloom

Nothing, because it got cancelled!
Bloom, an independently-run festival (supposedly from 14th-16th August), has been called off. The organisers said that they'd been badly affected by the economic downturn, and that Bloom had taken a back seat in light of the recession.
Looks like I won't be the only one stuck at home this year...

However- if you did have Bloom tickets, you will get 2 free tickets to Bloom 2010. There will also be a free 'Bloom Party' at Motion in Bristol on August 15th. In addition to this, Bloom tickets will be welcome at the Big Chill and the Beachdown festival this year. If this is something you're interested in, you will have to pay a bit extra- £55 for Big Chill and £22.50 for Beachdown- in order to upgrade your ticket. So, all's not lost then.

Bummer about shows getting cancelled in the UK as well. Seems like art is always the first thing to take a hit when times get a little tough. Anyway, thanks for the comment, and I dig your blog as well. You've got yourself a new RSS subscriber. :P

It says something about the state of the economy when hardworking, independent artists are struggling whilst dirt-cheap, slave-labour-manufactured products thrive, doesn't it?
And thanks very much :)
